We are currently looking for a dynamic individual to join our procurement team as a Senior Buyer in Saint John, NB. 

The successful individual must possess a great attitude, organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage several projects/tasks at a time.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement support to all organizational personnel for day-to-day requirements, with emphasis on engineering and maintenance requirements
  • Maintain effective supplier relationships utilizing various purchasing strategies
  • Responsible for Procuring Materials in accordance with established Saint John LNG Procurement Policies & Practices, including request for proposal (RFP) preparation / evaluation and contract management
  • Negotiating price, terms, conditions, and service deliverables with vendors
  • Evaluate vendor quality, cost, and delivery performance
  • Enable department leaders to make informed decisions by providing options and recommendations based on data and analysis
  • Provide Procurement Support for MRO Stores Stock & Non-stock Inventory as required
  • Assist in Vendor Analysis & Negotiations, including management of all Vendor Qualification Requirements
  • Provide expediting support for all critical shipments
  • Managing logistics, importing and customs requirements
  • Facilitate issue resolution with vendors

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of previous experience as buyer, purchasing agent or sourcing specialist
  • MRO experience with a technical background in an Industrial or Construction environment would be considered an asset
  • Previous experience with SAP or equivalent Procurements Software with Inventory Management & Materials
  • Proficient with the Microsoft software: MS Word, Teams, Excel & Power Point
  • SCMP designation or completion of SCMA courses would be considered an asset
  • Excellent communications and negotiation skills
